About

Grey skies but then
for a fraction
a mountain gleams

This is journal of my meditation sessions meant primarily for myself so that i can track progress (such as it is).

At the time of writing, I practice a sort of free-form open-eyed awareness meditation. That is, I just sit and stare at a wall trying to be as conscious of my own thoughts and feelings as possible without attaching to any of them or falling asleep.

I do call myself a Buddhist even though I feel a bit like a fake when I do it as I dont at all believe in karma or reincarnation or mystical beings. I have one life, this life and when I die, my consciousness (mind, soul, whatever) will be extinguished completely.

However, many Buddhist teachings have made an impact in my life especially the teachings of Ajahn Buddhadasa from Wat Suan Mok in Thailand and I am consistently moved and find inspiration in Buddhist thought and philosophy.

Maybe I am a Buddhist in the same way that a Marxist is a Marxist.

I also have a more personal blog here.
